The gamay grape is the variety that Beaujolais is known and loved for. Don't be afraid of this little French gem - too often it is associated with light and flavourless wines, but the Fleurie sub-region of Beaujolais is where the variety delivers a more serious and complex wine that the Aussie palate will appreciate.
